The TaylorMade P790 2025 Irons build on the success of one of the most popular player's distance irons ever created, delivering faster ball speeds, an even softer forged feel and greater consistency throughout the set. Engineered for golfers who want the look of a compact player's iron combined with modern forgiveness and distance, the latest P790 offers exceptional all-round performance for a wide range of handicaps.
Every iron has been individually engineered using advanced AI-driven mass optimisation to create a unique internal structure tailored to its specific role within the set. This precision design allows TaylorMade to optimise launch, forgiveness and distance control from the long irons through to the scoring clubs.
A brand-new 4340M forged face material makes its debut in the 2025 model. Around 20% stronger than the previous generation, this ultra-high-strength face allows for a thinner construction that produces faster ball speeds while increasing the effective sweet spot by up to 24%. The result is greater forgiveness on off-centre strikes without compromising the clean, responsive feel expected from a forged iron.
The latest FLTD CG (Flighted Centre of Gravity) technology strategically positions the centre of gravity lower in the long irons to promote higher launch and increased carry, before progressively raising it through the shorter irons to improve spin, distance control and precision into the greens.
Inside the forged hollow-body construction, SpeedFoam™ Air, tungsten weighting and TaylorMade's proven Speed Pocket™ technology work together to maximise ball speed, enhance forgiveness and deliver a powerful yet incredibly soft sensation at impact. The refined internal structure has also been tuned using modal analysis to provide the outstanding forged feel that better golfers demand.
The 2025 P790 also features a thinner topline for a cleaner appearance at address, while the increased sole radius and progressive leading edge improve turf interaction for more consistent ball striking from a variety of lies.
