The TaylorMade Milled Grind Hi-Toe 4 Wedge is a highly versatile scoring wedge engineered for golfers who demand maximum spin, precise trajectory control and the freedom to play creative shots from almost any lie. Its distinctive high-toe profile combines an enlarged hitting area with a higher centre of gravity, producing a controlled launch while providing additional confidence when the face is opened around the green.
Hi-Toe 4 combines TaylorMade's RAW Face construction and Spin Tread Technology with precision-milled sole geometries and an Aged Copper finish. Full-face grooves on the 54° through 60° models further enhance versatility from rough and bunkers, while five specialised All-Terrain sole grinds allow golfers to match the wedge to their delivery, preferred shot types and typical turf conditions.
Signature Hi-Toe Profile
The defining feature of the Hi-Toe 4 is its enlarged, high-toe head shape.
Additional face area towards the toe provides greater confidence when manipulating the clubface, particularly on open-faced pitches, bunker shots and shots from unpredictable lies where impact can naturally move away from the conventional centre of the face.
The expanded profile also allows TaylorMade to position additional mass higher within the head.
Higher Centre of Gravity
The pronounced toe pad shifts the centre of gravity higher, helping produce a lower, more controlled initial launch.
Rather than simply sending wedge shots high into the air, Hi-Toe 4 is engineered to combine a penetrating trajectory with strong spin.
This gives golfers greater control over flight and carry distance while still providing the stopping power required when attacking demanding pin positions.
RAW Face Technology
The Hi-Toe 4 incorporates TaylorMade's unplated RAW Face, leaving the primary hitting surface untreated.
With no plating covering the face, the grooves can retain their precisely engineered geometry while the exposed surface is designed to oxidise naturally over time.
This gradual rusting is an intentional characteristic of the RAW Face and does not indicate a defect in the wedge.
Spin Tread Technology
TaylorMade's Spin Tread Technology introduces laser-etched channels across the RAW hitting surface.
Inspired by the way tyre tread moves water away from the contact patch, these channels are designed to redirect moisture away from the golf ball at impact.
Reducing the amount of water trapped between the ball and face helps preserve friction, providing more dependable spin when playing from damp fairways, wet rough or other challenging conditions.
Full-Face Grooves from 54°–60°
On the 54°, 56°, 58° and 60° Hi-Toe 4 wedges, the primary scoring lines extend across the entire width of the face.
This becomes particularly valuable when the clubface is opened because the effective strike location can move considerably towards the toe.
Full-face grooves provide meaningful groove coverage in these areas, helping maintain spin and control on creative greenside shots, bunker shots and unpredictable strikes from heavy rough.
The lower-lofted 50° and 52° models use conventional scoring-line coverage, reflecting their greater emphasis on square-faced approach shots.
Precision Milled Sole Construction
TaylorMade uses its established Milled Grind manufacturing process to create the sole geometry with exceptional precision.
Rather than relying on extensive manual grinding, CNC machining allows each grind to be reproduced consistently from one clubhead to the next.
This helps provide predictable turf interaction and allows golfers to select a specific sole geometry knowing its performance characteristics are deliberately engineered into the head.
ATS – All-Terrain Standard Grind
The ATS Grind is the most neutral and versatile sole within the Hi-Toe 4 family.
Its mid-bounce design and four-way camber are engineered to perform effectively across a broad range of turf conditions and shot types.
For golfers with a relatively neutral delivery who want one dependable sole configuration rather than a highly specialised grind, ATS provides the all-round option within the range.
ATC – All-Terrain C-Grind
The ATC Grind provides a lower-bounce configuration with a relatively narrow sole and significant heel and toe relief.
Reducing material around these areas allows the leading edge to remain closer to the ground as the clubface is manipulated.
This makes ATC particularly suitable for shallower deliveries, firmer turf and golfers who frequently open the face to play creative shots around the green.
ATV – All-Terrain Versatility Grind
The ATV Grind is engineered to change its effective performance according to how the club is delivered.
Its asymmetric, concave sole provides versatility from tighter lies while introducing additional effective bounce when the clubface is opened.
This makes it particularly attractive to creative short-game players who regularly alter face angle and trajectory rather than relying on one conventional technique.
ATX – All-Terrain Xtra Grind
The ATX Grind provides a slightly wider sole with a mid-to-high bounce profile.
It offers additional protection against digging while retaining enough versatility for golfers who play from a variety of conditions.
ATX occupies the middle ground between the more specialised low-bounce configurations and the maximum-forgiveness ATW sole.
ATW – All-Terrain Wide Grind
The ATW Grind uses the widest sole and highest-bounce characteristics within the Hi-Toe 4 family.
The additional sole area helps prevent the leading edge from digging excessively into softer turf or deep sand.
It is particularly well suited to steeper deliveries, softer course conditions and golfers who want additional assistance from greenside bunkers.
Aged Copper Finish
Hi-Toe 4 features TaylorMade's distinctive Aged Copper finish, giving the wedge a traditional appearance that complements its specialised short-game design.
The finish also helps reduce distracting reflections when addressing the ball in bright sunlight.
A contrasting gold-filled lower groove provides an additional visual reference, helping golfers identify face orientation when setting up to the shot.
Built for Short-Game Creativity
Hi-Toe 4 is designed for golfers who use their wedges to manufacture different trajectories rather than repeatedly playing the same shot.
The enlarged face, elevated CG, RAW Face, Spin Tread surface and extensive grind selection allow the wedge to adapt to low checking pitches, conventional chips, open-faced shots, bunker play and difficult recovery situations.
It is this combination of spin technology and sole versatility that makes Hi-Toe 4 particularly capable around the green.
